UCL Business wins Knowledge Exchange External Initiative of the Year Award
25 June 2020
UCL Business (UCLB) wins KE Award for their work in making the UCL-Ventura breathing aid widely available.
UCLB, part of UCL Innovation & Enterprise, were announced winners of the ‘Knowledge Exchange External Initiative of the Year’ award at the KE Awards 2020 yesterday.
UCLB won the award for their successful global dissemination of the design and manufacturing instructions for the UCL-Ventura breathing aid. The aid was developed in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, and made available via e-lucid, UCLB's online licensing platform.
Following the development of the breathing aid by UCL, UCL Hospital (UCLH) and Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains (Mercedes-AMG HPP), the UCLB team rapidly enabled a customised e-lucid storefront to manage the free of charge, licensed dissemination of the design files.
The KE Awards celebrate the best knowledge exchange (KE) achievements from across the PraxisAuril community. The External Initiative of the Year Award recognises an initiative which demonstrates new and innovative ways in driving KE activity by engaging with external partners.
UCL Business (UCLB) is the commercialisation company of UCL and its partner NHS Trusts.
