You can:

  • learn about a range of knowledge exchange activities
  • develop skills to help you get started (or do more)
  • hear from colleagues who have already successfully made an impact

With 18 events over 4 days, we hope there’ll be something in this programme for you. You can pick and choose which events you want to attend, or sign up for them all.

The programme is being led by UCL Research, Innovation and Global Engagement (RIGE) with input from experts from across the university.

Knowledge exchange is a two-way exchange of ideas, evidence and expertise between universities, organisations and communities outside of academia.

Who it’s for

The programme is open to all academic and professional services staff at UCL.

Whether you're new to knowledge exchange, or already an expert, we hope there'll be something in this programme which is of interest to you.

What to expect

From 10 to 13 June there'll be a range of events, including training, workshops, and panel discussions. Each event will be around 2 hours long and held either online or in-person on the Bloomsbury campus. You can pick and choose which events are most of interest to you.

Alongside the live events, there'll be a range of digital resources for you to explore.

The programme will include events and resources across six themes:

  • Innovation in partnerships

  • Entrepreneurial thinking for all
  • Crafting impact: Storytelling, evaluation and collaboration

What is knowledge exchange?

Knowledge exchange is a two-way exchange of ideas, evidence and expertise between universities, organisations and communities outside of academia.

Working with businesses, government, not-for-profits and community groups helps academics apply their expertise outside academia, and make a positive impact on people’s lives.

Knowledge exchange also enables us to bring ideas and knowledge into the university, enhancing our teaching and research.

It can involve a wide variety of activities – read about some examples of how UCL staff and students have been transforming lives though knowledge exchange.
