Will Dawson

Background
From West Sussex, Will studied at The University of Manchester for his BSc in Chemistry. He then worked at Econic Technologies, developing polyurethanes from novel polycarbonate precursors which incorporate CO2 in their synthesis, before moving to Imperial College London for his masters in Green Chemistry. His MRes project focused on the ionic liquid pretreatment of biomass to produce lignin for application in carbon fibres. In October 2020, he joined the EIL for his PhD.

Research Summary
Will’s research focuses on the characterisation of Li-ion battery electrodes, using X-ray computed tomography and electrochemical techniques. His work aims to inform the design and engineering of advanced electrodes as part of the Faraday Institution Nextrode project.
