Imaging and Diagnostics

The performance of an electrochemical device is typically governed by the complex interplay of mass and energy. The ability to 'see inside' these technologies allows the mechanism of operation and failure to be examined. In the EIL we specialise in developing bespoke diagnostic and imaging techniques to the study electrochemical devices. These techniques include: X-ray micro tomography, electrochemical atomic force microscopy, current mapping, off-gas analysis, high speed photography, thermal imaging and a host of bespoke electrochemical techniques.
