The Economist's Society presents a talk by Andrea Boltho: Will the Euro survive the next recession?. The talk will be introduced by UCL Professor of Economics Wendy Carlin.

Andrea Boltho is Emeritus Fellow of Magdalen College, Oxford, and Director of Oxford Economics. After growing up in Italy, he studied in institutions around Europe, including the London School of Economics, the University of Paris and University of Oxford. He later became head of the Growth Studies Division in the Department of Economics at the OECD, and served as a consultant to the World Bank and Bank of Italy on multiple occasions. Boltho was also a visiting researcher at the Economic Planning Agency in Tokyo in the early 1970s.

Andrea Boltho's area of expertise is international and applied macroeconomics and he has lectured on world and European economic developments at a number of private sector corporations including IBM, KPMG and Fiat. His latest research revolves around the Eurozone and its countries, and he has recently co-authored articles including 'The problems with the Eurozone' and 'Germany needs high wage settlements and a serious fiscal stimulus'.
