UCL Dental Public Health Group co-hosts WHO expert workshop on oral health

WHO expert workshop on monitoring and surveillance of oral diseases

Taking place on 23-24 November 2023 at UCL, several senior WHO staff and external epidemiological and policy experts attended the workshop in-person or online. The workshop discussed in particular opportunities for closer collaboration between WHO and the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) in the future monitoring of oral diseases globally. Participants also discussed how to incorporate oral health into the existing WHO STEPS approach to noncommunicable diseases (NCD) risk factor surveillance.
