When lockdown measures were first introduced, UCL Eastman was able to switch to virtual learning within hours*. Building on our existing distance-learning expertise, we developed a sophisticated range of online teaching and assessment methods.
During the autumn 2020 term, most didactic and theoretical training is taking place online, with face-to-face clinical skills teaching in our new, state-of-the-art facilities wherever possible. The latter is delivered to small groups, enabling us to be mindful of any social distancing measures in place. Our new and returning students also continue to have excellent access to clinical cases in the UCLH Eastman Dental Hospital.
Inevitably staff and students will need to be prepared to respond flexibly to changes in Governmental advice and we will continue to monitor the complex, evolving situation.
