Back to (dental) school in the time of Covid

Professor of Dental Education Albert Leung recently chaired an international webinar entitled “Back to School in the time of Covid-19, an international perspective” in his role as Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry,  Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

The popular event attracted over 600 participants and involved Deans and Directors of Education from ten dental schools in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, Italy, Holland, UAE, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand. 

They presented an international perspective of the challenges dental schools have faced as a result of Covid-19.  

Discussions included how dental schools have managed to survive lockdown; how they have adapted to changes; and how teaching, assessments and student experience have been affected. 

The leaders also discussed how quality dental education might be enhanced in this new, teaching and learning environment.
