This June, you’re invited to join UCL Eastman Dental Institute and guest lecturer Professor Stavros Pelekanos for a one-day symposium on innovative aesthetic dentistry techniques.
In celebration of our Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry PG Certificate’s 10 year anniversary, Prof Pelekanos will be joined by additional international specialists to deliver a comprehensive and invigorating programme of lectures for specialists and GDPs with an interest in aesthetic dentistry. Held in the prestigious Gustave Tuck Lecture Theatre at UCL, and kindly supported by Hu-Friedy, this symposium will be an excellent opportunity to learn from leaders in aesthetic dentistry while networking with colleagues.
The price includes all refreshments, and you will gain a CPD certificate for 6 hours verifiable CPD.

Speaker information
- Professor Stavros Pelekanos, Dr Med Dent, DDS
Dr. Stavros Pelekanos received his undergraduate degree in Dentistry (D.D.S.) in 1991 from the University of Athens, Greece. In 1993, he obtained his doctoral degree in Prosthodontics (Dr Med Dent) from the University of Freiburg, Germany. Following his professional training, Stavros established a private practice in Athens, oriented towards prosthodontics, implantology and aesthetic dentistry.
In 2002, he was appointed full-time Lecturer at the Department of Prosthodontics, Dental School, University of Athens, Greece, and is now Assistant Professor in the same department. Since 2013 he is an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED). His professional affiliations include: the International College of Prosthodontics (ICP), European Prosthodontic Association (EPA), Greek Prosthodontic Association and many others. He is a faculty member of the Global Institute of Dental Education, Los Angeles, and Dental Tribune CME lecturing internationally and conducts hands-on courses on implants, aesthetics and restorative procedures.
In 2008 and 2011, Stavros received second and first prize at the scientific award competition of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry held in Madrid, Spain and Istanbul, Turkey respectively. To date he has published over twenty articles in peer reviewed journals and 2 chapters in books.
- Dr James Lee, BDS (Hons)
James Lee received his BDS degree with Honours from the University of Manchester in 2010. He completed his vocational training in South Wales and then went on to be appointed as Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport, Wales.
In 2014, he successfully completed his Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute, University College of London with Distinction. His case presentation has won the Best Clinical Case Award at the 2015 Dentistry Awards UK.
James is in the senior year of his american speciality training in prosthodontics and Master of Science degree at the University of Minnesota (USA). His Masters’s thesis is focussed on improving primary stability of the initially unstable implant.
- Dr Dominiki Chatzopoulou, Dipds, MClin Dent Perio(Eng), MDFTEd, MFDS
Dr. Dominiki Chatzopoulou qualified in 1998 from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and subsequently completed her MClinDent in Periodontics from QMUL with distinction in 2001. She was appointed as a Clinical Academic Lecturer within the department and subsequently became a Senior Clinical Lecturer and course director for the MClinDent in Periodontology and Diploma in Advanced Clinical Periodontology. She has 14 years of experience in managing complex periodontal cases and is part of the implant team teaching postgraduates at the QMUL.
Dr. Chatzopoulou areas of interest include mucogingival surgery, risk management in periodontics and periodontal regenerative therapy and regularly lectures on these topics nationally and internationally. Her clinical time is divided between private periodontal practice in West London and the Royal London Hospital.
