The geological record allows us to study climate-biosphere feedbacks and ecosystem function through past warm climate intervals that have relevance for future change. This project investigates the evolutionary record across Oceanic Anoxic Event 2, and will determine the timing, magnitude and trajectory of plankton evolution through the succession of climate shifts. OAE2 was a globally expressed carbon-cycle perturbation that included global warming, sea-level rise and extinction
