Research Summary

I am an Earth Scientist at University College London (UCL) and the Deputy Director of the UCL Hazard Centre. I specialise in the teaching, assessment and management of risk associated with natural and environmental hazards and natural resources, particularly multiple hazards, volcanism, water and mining waste. I have over 25 years of research, teaching, training and knowledge exchange experience throughout the world, and have held academic positions at universities in the UK, Canada, Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea.

Meet the Staff: Dr Stephen Edwards

I use my experience to facilitate and sustain research and knowledge exchange partnerships with business, industry, government, and humanitarian and development agencies in order to assist them understand and reduce potential disaster and resource risk through greater engagement with the natural and environmental sciences. I am a highly competent scientist and analyst and an exceptional communicator, lecturer and field geologist.
