Title: "From receptors to spatial perception"
Abstract: The striking relation of structure and function in the ascending auditory system offers a rather unique opportunity to link molecules (e.g. receptors) to synaptic function, to circuit properties, coding principles and, ultimately, to perception. By presenting a specific case related to spatial hearing it will be argued, however, that the transfer from findings at a cellular level to perception requires a strong conceptual framework and insight into the phylogenetic history of hearing.
Tuesday 14th June, 1-2pm in the Ear Institute Main Seminar Room (G33)
