The theme for this year was 'Dont let hearing loss limit you'
On the 3rd March researchers from the Ear Institute and evidENT held a public engagement stand forWorld Hearing Day in the atrium of the newly built Royal National ENT hospital.
The theme of this years awareness day was 'Hearing for life: Don't let hearing loss limit you' focusing on rehabilitation and empowerment of those with hearing loss. Our researchers were able to talk directly with members of the public about our hearing loss research and clinical trials such as the Regain programme.
There was also the usual guess the amount of ear plugs competition and an appearance this year from Prof Jonathan Ashmore's giant sized hair cell model; complete with some crafted together synapses (string, bulldog clip and pin for those seeking to reproduce something similar).
