New Scientist Live 2023

We are excited to be taking part in New Scientist Live 2023 from October 7th-9th. Join us in this enlightening journey of discovery as we explore the dynamic interplay of health, social, and environmental influences that shape our life course. LifeCourse Blocks

The block tower represents your health. Spin the wheel to find out which risk factor block you need to remove from the tower to make your health unstable.

Memory Box

Have fun and test your memory skills with our Memory Box Game. Take a look in the box, close the box and tell us what you remember.

Balance Test

Get ready to put your coordination and stability to the test. In this game, you'll take on the challenge of maintaining your balance on a wobble cushion.

Grip Strength Test

Put your hand and forearm muscles to the test in this exciting challenge. Your task is simple: squeeze the grip strength device as hard as you can to register your strength score. Plot your results on our wall chart and compete with others to see who has the strongest grip.

MRCLHA

MRC Unit for Lifelong Health and Ageing at UCL

The mission of the MRC Unit for Lifelong Health and Ageing at UCL (MRC LHA) is to identify biological and social factors that affect lifelong health, ageing and the development of chronic disease, and to use findings to design and test interventions that enhance healthy ageing.

TwinsUK

Twins UK

TwinsUK is the UK’s largest adult twin registry and the most clinically detailed in the world.

The cohort was set up in 1992 to investigate the incidence of osteoporosis and other rheumatologic diseases in several hundred monozygotic (identical) twins. We now have over 15,000 identical and non-identical twins from across the UK, with ages between eighteen and one hundred and our research has expanded to include multiple diseases and conditions.

Covid-19 Longitudinal Health and Wellbeing National Core Study

The National Core Studies were established by Sir Patrick Vallance in October 2020 as part of the UK’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Six NCS were created focussing on key areas in which the UK needed to rapidly increase research scale to respond to the near term strategic, policy and operational needs.

The UKRI funded Longitudinal Health and Wellbeing National Core Study aims to understand the health, social and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic by uniting established population cohorts and national anonymised electronic health records to inform policy.
