Huge amounts of climate data exist and are freely available to use. But the way this data is presented can hinder people's understanding of what's happening with climate change.

At this event, the UCL Climate Action Unit will introduce a trio of climate metrics designed to communicate what’s happening now: that earth’s energy balance is changing, what that’s doing to temperatures, and how that affects the weather we experience.

Celebrating collaboration

These aren’t just new metrics themselves, they’re also built in an entirely novel way. We’ll explain how we collaborated with scientists, designers and journalists to design climate metrics that speak to people's experiences of the world around them. We carefully considered the sorts of communication climate change needs now, and in the future.

This is a celebration of the project: after a short presentation, we'll invite you to interact with the metrics and will give you the opportunity to ask questions.

We look forward to raising a glass with you and hearing what you think.

Accessibility

This event will be held in person in Bentham House. This is the Faculty of Laws building, on the Bloomsbury Campus of University College London.

If you have any accessibility requirements or concerns about your ability to participate in this event please tell us and we will endeavour to help. To contact the event Project Manager (Freya Roberts) send an email to climateactionunit@ucl.ac.uk
