The ATTACH study examines changes in attitudes and beliefs about COVID-19, adherence to behavioural strategies (e.g., physical distancing, handwashing) and the impact on mental and physical health for adults and populations most affected by COVID-19 (people with chronic medical conditions, BAME groups).
Clusters of COVID-19 vary by region and SES status, so we will examine interactions with social and economic factors. Using real-time data-collection via a smartphone survey app and online psychological we will collect data over the next 12 months. There is a critical need for representative research and the long-term mental health impact of COVID-19 will take months to become fully apparent. Our research design (cross-sectional and longitudinal) is well-suited to these capture changes. Parents and people with medical conditions who consent to take part in future studies will be contacted to assess long-term health outcomes.
