Instructions for visiting staff and PhD students

The Department of Chemical Engineering at UCL is keen to host visiting staff and PhD students from other universities.

We are not able to accept all visitors who make an application to visit the Department; however, we are keen to welcome visitors where possible. To facilitate your application and ensure we can manage our resources effectively, please follow the appropriate instructions as per the below.

PhD students & Research Fellows

Instructions for PhD students and Research Fellows who would like to visit the department of Chemical Engineering.

For visitors from other universities who would like to visit the department for up to a maximum of 12 months, please provide the following details directly to an appropriate supervisor by way of application:

  1. Proposed dates of visit.
  2. Reason for visit.
  3. Whether any funding is required.
  4. Letter of recommendation from their main advisor and a CV.
  5. If you are based, overseas or the UK.

Applicants will be notified shortly after submission if their application has been accepted or not.

Visitors to the department are responsible for checking visa and ATAS requirements for their visit and should contact the appropriate admin team for guidance and information.

Please note that ATAS certificates (if applicable) should be sent to the department prior to the start of the visit as these will need to be checked before research can commence. 

 

Affiliate Academics

Instructions for affiliate academics who would like to visit UCL for minimum of 1 month and up to a maximum of 12 months
