Our group's interest is to understand the physiology and pathophysiology of various medical disorders, particularly but not necessarily limited to the kidney. We are focussed with our clinical and scientific work on the study of rare diseases.
We are happily involved in teaching of students for a variety of degrees (e.g., BSc, MSc, PhD).
Prof. Robert Kleta and his lab focus on the study of patients with rare metabolic and renal disorders. A major interest is the elucidation of genetic and pathophysiological mechanisms in collaboration with colleagues at the Royal Free Hospital (RFH) and at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).
Training in Physiology and Paediatrics in Germany (Hamburg, Luebeck, Freiburg, Muenster, Berlin); board certification in Paediatrics in Germany.
