Research summary
Iam an MRC Investigator and Honorary Consultant in GeriatricMedicine, previously holding a Wellcome Trust Intermediate Clinical Fellowship. My primary interest is the relationship between delirium and/or acuteillness and trajectories of cognitive decline in largepopulation-representative studies.
I am keen to understand these relationshipsin their broadest sense, from the pathophysiological underpinnings through tothe implications for health care policy.
I am the PI for the Delirium and Population Health Informatics Cohort (DELPHIC) study, which tracks cognitive and functional status before, during and after hospitalisation in a population sample of older people.
NIHR Ageing Clinical Research Network
I am the specialty lead for North Thames CRN with a remit to support the recruitment of older people into research studies.
European Delirium Association
I am on the Board and serve as treasurer for the European Delirium Association, an organisation that promotes research, education and clinical practice in delirium
