Professor Beato (NPP) and Professor Brownstone (IoN) jointly awarded a Wellcome Discovery Award

Congratulations to Marco Beato (NPP) and Rob Brownstone (Institute of Neurology) on the joint award of a £4.5m Wellcome Trust Discovery Award. Rob and Marco will work on a mouse model of dystonia, the third most common degenerative disease, that cause abnormal and painful muscle spasms in those affected. They will investigate how specific elements in sensory and motor spinal circuits contribute to the dystonic phenotype.
