Prof Chris Barnes organises new Turing Institute AI interest group
30 November 2022
Prof Chris Barnes (UCL CDB) is among the three organisers of a new interest group at the Alan Turing Institute looking into the ways AI can support the practical engineering of biology to tackle global challenges.
Interest Groups at the Alan Turing Institute gather around shared areas of interest in data science and AI. Professor Chris Barnes (UCL, Cell and Developmental Biology) recently joined Dr Thomas Gorochowski (University of Bristol) and Dr Diego Oyarzun (Edinburgh University) in forming the 'Data-centric biological design and engineering' group which will look at issues including evolution and adaptation, unsupervised learning and machine learning.
