We are delighted to announce that Lydia Mapstone, PhD Student in the Purton lab, SMB, has won the UCL 'Three Minute Thesis' (3MT) Competition with her presentation 'Genetic engineering of Spirulina for future settlers on the Red Planet'.
An 80,000 word thesis might take nine hours to present, the 3MT (Three Minute Thesis) challenges current PhD students to present theirs in just three minutes!
Having already won the Faculty of Life Sciences heats on 10th May, Lydia then won the UCL competition yesterday! She now goes on to represent UCL at the National quarter finals in July and we wish her luck!
