An Immobilization Technique for Long-Term Time-Lapse Imaging of Explanted Drosophila Tissues

Matthew Bostock (Fernandes), Anadika Prasad (Fernandes) and Alice Yuen (Amoyel) had their paper accepted for publication in Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology
The manuscript details the team’s protocol for long-term culturing and imaging of explanted Drosophila tissues. They applied the technique to different tissues and developmental stages including the fragile first larval instar nervous system as well as the adult testis, where they were able to capture quiescent neural stem cell reactivation and cyst stem cell divisions, respectively.
The labs are very proud of everyone for getting this done during lockdown!
