Congratulations to Dr María Rodríguez-López on her Cell Reports paper

This new research led by Dr María Rodríguez-López shows that TORC1 signaling promotes protein translation and cellular ageing. The paper explains that this role of TORC1 is partly mediated via the transcription factor Gaf1. When TORC1 is blocked, Gaf1 extends cellular lifespan by inhibiting the transcription not only of protein-coding genes but also of tRNA genes functioning in translation.
