Pericytes play a key role in early Alzheimer's disease - new Science paper from the Attwell lab

Biomarkers suggest that the earliest event in Alzheimer's disease is a decrease of cerebral blood flow.

A new paper irom the Attwell lab shows that this is caused by pericytes constricting capillaries, as a result of amyloid beta generating the vasoconstrictor endothelin-1.
