Dr Daniele Tubino de Souza

Postdoctoral Researcher at Wageningen University

Daniele Tubino de Souza is an architect and urban planner and holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences. Her research articulates knowledge from the fields of environmental and social sciences with a focus on action-oriented research methods, aiming at theoretical and practical contributions to generate sustainable outcomes.  She is particularly interested in understanding social, transformative and transgressive learning processes enacted by grassroots initiatives within riverine contexts. In this context, she examines how learning-oriented practices may support the development of innovative action plans and strategies to promote bio-inspired regenerative design of degraded riverscapes and socio-environmental justice. She currently works as a postdoc researcher at Water Resources Management Group and is part of the coordinating team of Riverhood and River Commons projects (https://movingrivers.org/network/), She is also the content coordinator and instructor of the WUR MOOC on Transformative Citizen Science for Sustainability (https://www.wur.nl/en/show/Transformative-Citizen-Science-for-Sustainabi...).
