Abstract: The academic publishing ecosystem can be a confusing place to navigate, particularly for early career researchers. In this talk, I will aim to shed some light on the role of editors in the Nature-family of journals, what editors look for when assessing papers, as well as the different types of manuscripts that journals consider for publication. I will also try to offer some tips on how best to prepare your manuscript for submission to high-impact journals, as well how to best navigate the review process.
