Abstract: Adam Wilkins is know for his book on The Evolution of Developmental Pathways and a number of highly original and influential papers on the origin of meiosis, the evolution of sex determination, and the domestication syndrome. He was for many years the Editor of BioEssays and of the Perspectives section of Genetics.
