Abstract: In this talk Dr Ayub will discuss the data these projects will generate and how this can be used to explore broader questions about the interplay between rare and common genetic risk variants and population substructure and consanguinity.
About the Speaker
Professor Muhammad Ayub
Professor at University College London
Bio: Dr. Muhammad Ayub has recently joined UCL. He was professor of Psychiatry in Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada before his move. He is a clinician-scientist. His research interests cut across the biological and psychosocial aspects of psychiatry. He leads a team of researchers in Pakistan studying genetics of intellectual disability, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and autism. His research is funded by National Institute of Health (US) and Canadian Institute of Health Research (Canada).
