Characterisation and development of photobioreactor for efficient microalgal cultivation
Microalgae as the emerging cell factories have been demonstrated to produce hormones, enzymes, and other bioactive compounds. Whereas, the success of microalgae being the next biological platform in biopharmaceutical industry is largely dependent on its cultivation scalability and efficiency. The aim of my research is to characterise and develop a 'hanging bag'-type photobioreactor to deliver a simple, scalable, and low-cost microalgae cultivation system.
