Yoan Diekmann

Yoan graduated in Computer Science from Bielefeld University, Germany, before joining the Computational Biology PhD program at the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência in Oeiras, Portugal. His PhD research revolved around the general question how proteins evolve new functions, in particular studying the Rab family of small GTPases.

Currently, he is part of a Wellcome-funded project looking for human adaptations to changing diet and disease based on modern and ancient DNA sequences.
