Duties and Responsibilities

UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Sustainable Resource Policy to play a key role in our current and future teaching and research programmes. In particular, to support our new dual degree programme in Sustainable Built Environments, Energy and Resources.

The successful candidate will be expected to serve a 5-year term as one of two Programme Co-Directors and will lead on two modules. They will also strengthen our Institutes research capacity in the analysis and development of policies to improve the sustainability of resource use.


Key Requirements

Educated to PhD level the successful candidate will have experience of research-based teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level including preparation of course guides, lecture and seminars, setting of assessments and development of interdisciplinary teaching material. The ability to deliver high quality teaching and fostering a positive, supportive learning environment for students is essential.

The successful candidate will have a track record of publications in high quality peer-reviewed journals showing expertise in one or more sectors such as energy, water, land-use and minerals. They will demonstrate the ability and commitment to work at the interface of disciplinary boundaries and to seek positive solutions to local, national and/or global environmental and social challenges.
