We're hiring: Teaching Fellow in Economics of Energy and the Environment

UCL ISR and UCL Energy Institute are seeking to recruit a Teaching Fellow in Economics of Energy and the Environment

The UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources (UCL ISR) and UCL Energy Institute are located within The Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources (BSEER), with a mission to generate knowledge to promote the globally sustainable use of natural resources. 

We are seeking a Teaching Fellow for MSc in Economics and Policy of Energy and the Environment as a Deputy Course Director. We expect the candidate to continue to shape and develop the course content in conjunction with the Course Director and to take leadership of delivery of a number of modules covering the economic component of the course. The ideal candidate for the post is a person with a passion for teaching, and for supporting a world-class learning environment for our students. The post holder would be expected to undertake teaching on this course as well as supervision of MSc and PhD students.

Key requirements

A PhD in economics, including but not limited to Energy Economics, Environmental Economics and Ecological Economics, to be in the process of submitting a PhD in Economics or to have commensurate research experience in economics; ability to deliver and develop programmes of teaching at graduate level; previous experience of teaching economics at graduate or undergraduate level; experience of doing economic research using quantitative methods, providing pastoral care to students and wide exposure to administrative roles in Higher Education establishments. We are looking for a person with excellent organisational and time management skills, a passion for teaching, able to manage workload and work to deadlines. The successful applicant will help us to consolidate and improve a very successful graduate programme (80+ students) whilst forming and maintaining excellent partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
