Undergraduate Taster Day 2016

On Friday 22 July, we held a Taster Day in Urban Planning, Design and Real Estate, funded by UCL as part of its widening participation programme.  Nine Year 11 students from 6th form state schools across the country participated in the taster day, which included taster lectures in the morning - on urban planning (Ben Clifford), urban design (Elisabete Cidre) and Real Estate (Claudio de Magalhaes).  In the afternoon, Elena Benussi and Tatiana Moreira de Souza led the students on a site visit to Camley Street, north of Kings Cross, and then held a masterplanning workshop in the afternoon where students worked in teams of 3 to come up with proposals for the area.  The students produced incredibly impressive work in a short two hour session.  The feedback was very positive and we hope to see many of these students applying next year!
