Real Funds selected as one of the top 10 semi-finalists in Richard Branson Pitch to Rich competition

11 June 2015

Arya Taware

BSc Urban Planning, Design and Management student Arya Taware's real estate crowdfunding start-up Real Funds has been selected as a top 10 semi-finalist in Richard Branson's Virgin Media Business Pitch to Rich competition.

Chosen from among thousands of entries to the competition, Real Funds' vision is to solve the housing crisis by making alternative finance available to small and medium sized house builders through crowd-financing.

Their pitch is open for public voting and every voter has a chance to win £10,000.

Winning Pitch to Rich would allow Real Funds to secure mentoring and recruit talented individuals to move the business to the next level.

Real Funds

Real Funds' ultimate vision is where local communities will fund their own local property development projects, whether residential, commercial or retail.

Real Funds is a real estate crowdfunding platform breaking the oligopolistic position of a few major house builders. Their platform will allow SME house builders to access alternative capital to build housing projects of small and medium scale, tackling the housing shortage in the UK.

At the same time, Real Funds is opening this exclusive market to a wider range of investors. As a Real Funds investor, you do not need to have high capital or industry connections to invest in development projects, as the minimum investment is £10 for returns up to 10-12%.

Real Funds is moving fast towards launch, having received pre-seed funding from UCL to develop their crowdfunding platform. Real Funds has assembled a great team of industry experts to give people the opportunity to invest in their local community and beyond.
