The second Research Seminar among the six Public Research Seminars is part of a wider UCL ChangeMakers funded project titled MRes InterConnect: Bridging Interdisciplinary Communities and Frontline Research. The theme of politics, justice, and representation delves into the intangible dynamics inherent in our built environment and society, impacting urban design research and practice. During this seminar, we will explore various representations of justice and the dynamics of politics as delivered by Richard Sobey, discussing aspects of participation and place for contestation in the smart city domain, Sarah Goldzweig discussing spatio-legal justice and aspects of violence in policy and planning over the years in the city of LA, and Mariam Alzaabi exploring the liminal line between the expectation and realities of Dubai Expo 2020 legacy plan.

These events are a part of the Interdisciplinary Urban Design MRes at the Bartlett School of Planning.

All are welcome to join the insightful discussion, ask questions, and engage with the speakers. This event will be live streamed. If you cannot attend in person, please contact the organisers for Webinar Link.

The Research Seminar will take place at 31 Leigh Street, WC1H 9 EP, Thursday 5pm - 7pm.
