Book Launch: Urban Design Governance: Soft powers and The European experience (Matthew Carmona, Joao Bento and Tommaso Gabrieli)

Matthew Carmona will present an overview of this new book which explores how the soft powers of the public sector can be marshalled to help build a culture of place quality.  The book presents two years of Europe-wide research and engagement through the collaborative project Urban Maestro (UCL, UN-Habitat and the Brussels Bouwmeester Maître Architecte).

This new website brings together the diverse interests, projects, programmes and initiatives of the Bartlett School of Planning’s Urban Design Research Group.  We are excited to be able to present the range of our work in a new accessible, engaging and searchable site. Once live the URL will be www.urban-design.uk.

To celebrate we will be hosting a PechaKucha 20x20 event on the theme “What has urban design got to do with it?”, followed by wine and refreshments.
