The City of London is home to a world-renowned cluster of finance and professional service firms. How is this specialised district responding to a period of rapid change, with the rise of technology, the impending departure of the UK from the European Union, and changing generational expectations? Drawing on extensive qualitative research with a range of businesses, Dr Ed Jones of the City of London Corporation’s research team will provide an introduction to this unique place and discuss some of the key factors driving its ongoing evolution.

About the Speaker

Dr. Ed Jones

Dr. Ed Jones received his PhD at UCL in 2017 for a thesis entitled “Tech City: exploring the operation and governance of inner east London’s digital cluster”. His work on this exemplar of 21st century business culture has led him into the nearby global business and financial centre of the “square mile”, where he now holds a research post with the City Corporation
