About the Speaker
Domenico Di Siena is an Architect, Civic Designer and Researcher. He designs and develops processes and tools to help local authorities, organizations and universities to collaborate with citizens for the common good. He promotes a culture of collaboration with the use of new technologies for Situated Collective Intelligence processes, where citizens (re) become protagonists of the actions that determine the identity and character of the territory they inhabit.
Domenico is the instigator of CivicWise, a distributed and open community that empowers citizens by fostering collaborative urbanism, promoting civic innovation and inspiring better civic engagement.
One of CivicWise's latest initiatives is the Civic Innovation School, a learning environment to foster collaboration between different actors. As part of the Civic Innovation School, CivicWise delivers online Civic Design Courses.
CivicWise is currently collaborating with UCL (Pablo Sendra, Bartlett School of Planning) in developing the Civic Design Short Course, where students will be collaborating with community groups across London. Through this course, students will learn how to work in collaboration with communities and, at the same time, will be providing support to grassroots organisations.
The lecture will be followed by a discussion and a drinks reception.
*The event is organised by Pablo Sendra, The Bartlett School of Planning, as part of the collaboration with CivicWise, with the support of the Bartlett Innovation Fund.
