In Black History Month 2023, this Inclusive Spaces event will explore the importance of decolonial, intersectional feminist, antiracist, and other social justice theoretical frameworks for policymakers and governments dealing with entrenched racial inequality and other societal inequalities in digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI).

We will discuss case studies that uncover the potential impact of digital technologies to exacerbate – or alleviate – racial inequity and global inequality, and enable decolonial futures.

We will explore “Restorative Futures” which champion change by addressing emerging trends and challenges, technological advancements, and evolving socio-political landscapes within and across built environment policy.

The panel discussion with our speakers will be followed by a collaborative co-design workshop where participants will be invited to think about relevant questions to consider around critical decolonial and restorative policy.
