UCL IEDE Lecturer visits Madrid to discuss model for dwelling energy performance 

Dr Anna Mavrogianni visited the Technical University of Madrid (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, UPM) in January to discuss a collaboration with UPM researchers on the project MODIFICA (MOdelo predictivo – edificios – Isla de Calor urbanA). The MODIFICA project (project code: BIA2013-41732-R) is led by Prof Javier Neila González and Dr Carmen Sánchez-Guevara Sánchez and its aim is to develop a predictive model for dwelling energy performance under the urban heat island effect of Madrid in order to implement it in the evaluation of real energy demand and consumption of dwellings as well as in the selection of energy retrofitting strategies.

The MODIFICA project is ongoing with no key findings yet to be reported.
