UCL IEDE's Rokia Raslan leads chapter in CIBSE's new Application Manual

2 December 2015

AM11 2015

The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) is the prime source of expertise in the Building Services industry. As part of its remit, CIBSE issues Application Manuals (AMs) that focus on core knowledge areas for practitioners and researchers. As part of UCL IEDEs core research theme of Building Performance and Processes, Dr Rokia Raslan was a lead chapter author of the most recent of these manuals - AM11 Building performance modelling (BPM) 2015. Dr Raslan's area of expertise includes Modelling for building energy performance regulations compliance and certification; tying in well with this publication.

AM11 2015 is the first major revision of this key publication since 1998 and takes into consideration many of the real issues of simulating buildings and their systems , covering the general concepts of energy and environmental modelling and in particular focuses on: quality assurance procedures, compliance with UK and some international building energy efficiency codes, thermal environment and energy, ventilation, lighting and plant modelling. AM11 was authored  by experts in a variety of building design and modelling software, from academia and engineering practices, many of whom are committee members of the CIBSE Building Simulation Group.
