Duties and Responsibilities

We are looking to appoint a research fellow to contribute to the delivery of the Horizon Europe project Affordable and digital solutions to Build the next generatiON of smart EU buildings” (BuildON). The Research Fellow will be working together with other group members and project partners to design and implement software components to support the information management processes and data flows of the project. The research fellow will oversee UCL’s contributions towards developing a data model for smart buildings and data integration workflows, in support of using available information from heterogeneous data sources. In addition, the research fellow will support the development of model checking approaches.

The preferred candidate will be expected to have solid knowledge in either Building and District Information Modelling, or good knowledge of Building Automation and Control Technologies, or both. They are expected to have excellent programming or scripting skills and the ability to publish and document code and write reports. It is desirable that they have prior experience working in international multi-partner and multi-disciplinary projects. This post is available immediately and is funded for 12 months in the first instance, further funding to support the post may be available. Key Requirements

You should be enthusiastic about developing novel technological solutions to make buildings smarter and more efficient. You will have a PhD (or a PhD near completion) in a quantitative field related to the subject area and/or required skills, or equivalent through other research or work experience. As part of your prior experience you should have experience working with BIM and Semantic Web Technologies.
