Duties and Responsibilities

Faced with the challenges of health, well-being, productivity, comfort, energy use and climate change, the UCL Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering generates and exchange knowledge in the sustainable development of buildings and the urban environment and to train the future leaders in the field.

UCL IEDE is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Associate Professor in Engineering and Architectural Design to play a key role in our current and future research and teaching programmes, especially to support our rapidly developing smart buildings and digital engineering research and teaching endeavours.

Key Requirements

A PhD in a subject relevant to a research area in the job description, or extensive experience commensurate with a PhD, together with experience of high-quality research in a subject relevant to the research and teaching areas outlined in the description are essential requirements. The successful candidate will also have a track record of high-quality publications in peer-reviewed academic journals or other high-quality research outputs. The candidate must be able to demonstrate that they have, or will have, a publication record suitable for inclusion in the REF process.

To be considered for appointment at Grade 9 it is also essential to have evidence of: research income generation, leading research teams (including PhD students’ supervision) and module development, delivery and leadership.
