Why timing is (almost) everything when it comes to zero carbon
11 March 2020
On Thursday 5th March, IEDE Associate Professor Dr Rokia Raslan hosted and chaired a joint event with WSP focusing on Carbon Accouting.
Over 70 guests attended the event, which was a result of a fruitful research collaboration between UCL and WSP over the last year . This collaboration closely reflects the faculty's prioritisation of the Climate Crisis and our efforts in seeking partnerships with professional, and industry experts, as well as other schools around the world, in understanding the issues related to the climate emergency and how to tackle it.
The evening included presentations and a panel discussion from guest speakers which aimed to shed light on the issues surrounding methods of calculations emissions from diverse perspectives, including:
- Isabel Butnar - Senior Researcher - Bioenergy Systems, UCL
- Barny Evans - Head - Sustainable Places & Energy, WSP
- Peter Noyce - SAP and Non-Domestic Clean Heat, BEIS
- Adrian Barnes - Senior Manager - Green Ratings & Advisory, Green Investment Group
