The Bartlett Promise Master's Scholarship
This scholarship aims to enable students from backgrounds underrepresented in The Bartlett, UCL’s Faculty of the Built Environment to pursue master's studies at The Bartlett. The Scholarships will cover full tuition fees plus an allowance to cover living and study expenses (£15,364), for the normal duration of the programme at UCL. All Promise scholars will also receive on-going academic and career support during their study.
- Eligibility criteria for September 20221
The Bartlett Promise aims to enable students from backgrounds which are underrepresented in The Bartlett, to pursue postgraduate master’s studies at The Bartlett, UCL’s Faculty of the Built Environment.
Candidates must:
be UK domiciled with home fee status or be a forced migrant (as defined by UCL) have an offer of admission to a Bartlett master’s programme for study in 2022/23 and must not have completed a master’s at UCL or anywhere else previously 2
Candidates must also meet at least one of the additional criteria:
be in financial need as assessed by UCL3 be from a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic background 4 be from a Gypsy, Roma or Traveller community 5 have a disability 5 be a care leaver 5 have care responsibilities be first generation in family to attend university at undergraduate level be first generation in family to attend university at postgraduate level

The Bartlett Promise Sub-Saharan Africa Master’s Scholarship
This scholarship is open to applicants who are nationals of a Bartlett approved list of Sub-Saharan African countries pursuing a Bartlett master’s programme.
Full overseas tuition fees, an allowance to cover living and study expenses (£15,364) for the normal duration of the programme at UCL, a flight to/from the UK, UK Study Visa costs, English language assessment costs, health test costs, master’s programme application fee costs and the NHS health supplement charge in the UK. All Promise scholars will also receive on-going academic and career support during their study.

The Bartlett Promise aims to enable students from backgrounds which are underrepresented in The Bartlett, to pursue postgraduate studies at The Bartlett, UCL’s Faculty of the Built Environment. For The Bartlett Promise Sub Saharan African scholarship.
Candidates must:
- be a national of one of The Bartlett’s approved list2 of Sub Saharan African (SSA) countries and resident in an eligible SSA country
- must not hold a British or dual British citizenship
- have an offer of admission to a Bartlett master’s programme for study in 2022/23 which is either unconditional or conditional only on English language assessment
- be in financial need as assessed by UCL3
In addition to these, candidates should ideally also meet at least one of the additional criteria:
- be a forced migrant4
- be the first generation in the family to attend university at undergraduate level
- be the first generation in family to attend university at postgraduate level

ESDA Potential Energy Scholarship
Scholarship details
- Open to students holding an offer (conditional or unconditional) for the Energy Systems and Data Analytics MSc at UCL
- Available for the 2021-22 academic year
- The value of the award for 2021-22 is £5,330 in total towards fees.
- Deadline extended to Monday 2nd August 2021, 16:00 BST
Eligibility requirements
Candidates can be from any country but must hold a current offer (conditional or unconditional) for the Energy Systems and Data Analytics MSc.
Selection criteria
The Scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit and assessed by submission of a two-page essay on “An innovative application of data science to accelerate decarbonisation” as well as CV. The scholarship will be awarded to the applicant that comes up with the most novel, innovative and impactful application. Also, please include other support sought or gained from employers and / or other external bodies.
Smart Energy and the Built Environment Scholarship
- Open to students holding an offer (conditional or unconditional) for the Smart Energy and the Built Environment MSc at UCL
- Available for the 2021-22 academic year
- The value of the award for 2021-22 is £5,330 in total towards fees.
- Deadline extended to 13th August 2021, 16:00 BST
Eligibility requirements
Candidates can be from any country but must hold a current offer (conditional or unconditional) for the Smart Energy and the Built Environment MSc.
Selection criteria
The Scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit. Also, please include other support sought or gained from employers and / or other external bodies.
GREAT Scholarships for a Sustainable Future
UCL's GREAT Scholarships for a Sustainable Future are funded by British Council and UCL. The aim is to widen access to climate change courses and create a cohort of spokespeople for positive change.
One £10,000 (1 year) scholarship is available for a citizen of Egypt holding an offer on any Masters programme within The UCL Bartlett School of Environment Energy & Resources (BSEER), to which the UCL Energy Institute belongs.
