We're hiring: Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow in Building Stock and Energy Modelling

We're seeking two talented Research Fellows to join our Building Stock Laboratory to work on the development and maintenance of building energy and stock models.

UCL Energy Institute delivers world-leading learning, research and policy support on the challenges of climate change and energy security. We are seeking two Research Fellows to join the Building Stock Laboratory in the UCL Energy Institute to work on the development of models and interfaces that enable interaction with these models of urban environments in the UK and other countries.

The post-holder will play an important role in the development and maintenance of building energy and stock models. They will develop analytical tools and interfaces for models to support scenario analysis, the visualisation of outputs and related research.

The post is funded for 12 months in the first instance, further funding to support the post may be available.

Key requirements

Candidates will need a PhD in a quantitative field related to the subject area, or equivalent through other research or work experience. Experience of processing, integrating and analysing large data sets is essential. Experience building geospatial predictive models for buildings/cities is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate how they meet the essential and desirable criteria (listed in the person specification) in their application.

To be considered for appointment at Grade 8, candidates must have advanced computer science skills, with experience of building geospatial predictive models for buildings/cities, together with experience building machine learning routines on building/urban datasets for geospatial model inputs.
