UCL Energy Institute celebrates 2021 staff promotions

UCL has announced the senior academic, research and teaching fellow promotions for 2020–21.
UCL Energy Institute wishes to congratulate Dr Ian Hamilton, Dr Maria Kamargianni, and Dr Nishatabbas Rehmatullaon on receiving senior academic and research promotions, effective 1 October 2021.
The three members of staff have been recognised for their accomplishments in energy policy, research and teaching within the Institute.
Dr Ian Hamilton has been promoted to Professor of Energy, Environment and Health; Dr Maria Kamargianni has been promoted to Professor of Transport Systems, Innovation and Sustainability; Dr Nishatabbas Rehmatulla has been promoted to Principal Research Fellow.
Prof Neil Strachan, UCL Energy Institute Director, said:
“I am delighted that UCL has recognised the world-leading research, engagement in policy, and dedication to students of Ian, Maria and Nish. All three are making major contributions to understanding and then implementing solutions to some of the hardest problems in the energy transition. Ian’s work focuses on the interlinkages between energy use and health impacts, Maria’s work reimagines our transport systems as mobility services, and Nish’s work tackles the global problem of the environmental impacts of shipping."
