A reflection space to hear and be heard about the current social uprising in Chile
About this Event
Taking a multi-sectoral approach (Education, Housing, Transport, Economic and social wellbeing, Policy, Arts, among others) we will address three critical questions:
- How do Chilean inequalities shape each sector?
- How do we understand rage and violence from those inequalities, and how does hope looks like?
- How does the current social uprising challenges the international narrative of Chile as a 'successful' model?
Confirmed Chilean academics and PhD discussants are:
Bernardita Muñoz Chereau (Education)
Camila Cociña (Housing)
Beatriz Mella (Transport)
Joaquín Prieto (Economic and social wellbeing)
Javier Sajuria (Policy)
Bernardita Battle (Music)
Short presentations will be followed by an open discussion to explore the role that academia can play in the Chilean current social uprising.
