This event will explore the work of the research group Lugar Comum (Common Place) from the Faculty of Architecture of the Universidade Federal da Bahia, Brazil. The research group Lugar Comum (Common Place), established in 2010, is formed by researchers from the fields of architecture, urbanism and law. The conceptual references of its action are grounded in the understanding of: the urban as conflictive and creative; urbanism as a driver for the commons; the production of rights and urbanity as a multi-scaled, multifaceted and transitive perspective in a democratic city. From these premises, Lugar Comum builds critically its problematizations and political actions. Its ongoing researches feed theoretical and conceptual reflections and constructions which contribute to the transformative perspective of the production of knowledge, of the city and of spaces for acquiring rights.
